747101 is a numbered minor planet in the main asteroid belt. It was discovered on 12 March 2017 by the Pan-STARRS 1 survey at the Haleakala Observatory in Hawaii. The discovery image was taken at a magnitude of 20.3. The object was subsequently observed over a 3‑year arc, allowing its orbit to be well determined. Its orbital parameters are as follows: a semi‑major axis of 2.65 astronomical units, an eccentricity of 0.13, and an inclination of 7.5 degrees relative to the ecliptic. The asteroid’s orbital period is approximately 4.29 Earth years.

The estimated diameter, inferred from its absolute magnitude of 16.4 and an assumed albedo of 0.20 typical for S‑type asteroids, is about 3.5 kilometers. No spectral classification has yet been published, but the light‑curve data published in 2020 suggests a relatively low amplitude of 0.12 magnitudes, indicating a somewhat spheroidal shape. No spacecraft has visited 747101, and it has not been identified as a member of any known asteroid family. The designation 747101 is currently the only identification; the asteroid has not yet been given a formal name. No significant Yarkovsky drift has been observed in the available data.
