20V3A

20V3A is a shorthand designation used in electronics to describe a power specification indicating that a device, battery, or power supply operates at a nominal voltage of 20 volts and can deliver or accept up to 3 amperes of current. In electrical terms, this corresponds to a maximum power of 60 watts (P = V × I).

The label is commonly seen on wall adapters, USB-C or other DC power supplies, and on batteries or portable power banks intended for devices such as laptops, notebooks, and certain peripherals that require 20V input. Many modern devices may negotiate voltage and current through a power delivery protocol, such as USB Power Delivery. In such cases, the charger may offer multiple voltages and current levels and settle at 20V with up to 3A if the device requests that profile. Other devices may have fixed 20V3A input or output.

When used as a charger specification, the 3A rating defines the maximum current the supply can deliver safely; using cables and connectors rated for at least 3A is important. Mismatched voltage or insufficient current can cause slow charging, overheating, or damage.

To determine compatibility, check the device’s required input, the charger's output rating, and the connector type. If a device needs more than 60W or a different voltage, a 20V3A supply may be unsuitable.
