äänenvaimentimina
Äänenvaimentimina, commonly referred to as suppressors or silencers, are devices attached to the muzzle of a firearm to reduce the sound produced by the firing of a cartridge. They function by containing and slowing down the expanding gases that are released when a firearm is discharged. These gases, upon leaving the barrel at high velocity, create a significant portion of the noise. The suppressor's internal design, often featuring baffles or chambers, forces these gases to expand and cool within the device, thereby diminishing their pressure and velocity before they are expelled into the atmosphere.
The effectiveness of an äänenvaimennin in reducing sound is measured in decibels. While they significantly reduce
