An õhupall, commonly known as a balloon in English, is a flexible bag that can be inflated with a gas, such as helium, hydrogen, nitrous oxide, oxygen, or air. Modern balloons are typically made from materials like rubber, latex, nylon fabric, or a polychloroprene. Early balloons were made from animal bladders.

Õhupallid come in various shapes, sizes, and colors. They are often used for decorative purposes at parties, celebrations, and other events. They can also be used for scientific research, such as weather observation, or for recreational activities. The simple principle of buoyancy allows helium-filled balloons to float in the air.

The invention of the balloon dates back to the 18th century, with Montgolfier brothers demonstrating the first public balloon flight in 1783. Since then, the technology and materials used to make balloons have evolved significantly. While often associated with simple fun, balloons have also played roles in historical events and scientific advancements. The term "õhupall" is the Estonian word for balloon.
