Áramvonalak, often translated as streamlines, are a concept used in fluid dynamics to visualize the flow of fluids. They represent the instantaneous path of a fluid particle at a given moment in time. Imagine a snapshot of a flowing fluid; the streamlines would be tangent to the velocity vector of the fluid at every point in that snapshot. This means that if you were to release a tiny, massless particle into the fluid, it would follow the path of a streamline.

Streamlines are particularly useful for understanding complex flow patterns, such as those found in aerodynamics or hydrodynamics. They help engineers and scientists identify regions of high and low velocity, predict the direction of flow, and detect phenomena like vortices or stagnation points. While streamlines represent the instantaneous flow, for steady flows, they coincide with pathlines (the actual trajectory of a fluid particle over time) and streaklines (the locus of fluid particles that have all passed through a particular point). In unsteady flows, these different types of lines can diverge. The density of streamlines in a region can also indicate the relative speed of the fluid; where streamlines are closer together, the fluid velocity is higher, and where they are farther apart, the velocity is lower.
