Üzemanyagokat refers to fuels in Hungarian. Fuels are substances that can be burned to produce energy, typically in the form of heat or light. They are essential for a wide range of applications, from powering vehicles and heating homes to generating electricity and driving industrial processes. The most common fuels are derived from fossil fuels, which include coal, oil, and natural gas. These are formed over millions of years from the remains of ancient organisms.

Fossil fuels are hydrocarbons, meaning they are primarily composed of hydrogen and carbon atoms. When these fuels are burned, they undergo combustion, a chemical reaction with oxygen that releases energy. This energy can be harnessed for various purposes. For instance, gasoline and diesel are used in internal combustion engines to power cars and trucks. Natural gas is often used for heating homes and cooking, as well as for generating electricity in power plants. Coal has historically been a major source of energy for electricity generation, though its use is declining due to environmental concerns.

In addition to fossil fuels, there are also renewable fuels. These are derived from sources that are naturally replenished, such as biomass (organic matter), solar energy, wind energy, and water. Biofuels, like ethanol and biodiesel, are made from plant materials and are considered renewable alternatives to fossil fuels. Nuclear fuels, such as uranium, are used in nuclear power plants to generate electricity through nuclear fission, a process that releases a significant amount of energy from the atom's nucleus. The choice of fuel depends on factors like availability, cost, efficiency, and environmental impact.
