Útvonalprotokollokkal is a Hungarian term that translates to "routing protocols" in English. Routing protocols are a fundamental component of computer networks, responsible for determining the paths that data packets take across interconnected networks. They enable routers to exchange information about network topology and available routes, allowing them to make intelligent decisions about where to forward traffic.

There are various types of routing protocols, broadly categorized as interior gateway protocols (IGPs) and exterior gateway protocols (EGPs). IGPs, such as OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) and EIGRP (Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol), are used within a single autonomous system (a collection of networks under a single administrative control). EGPs, most notably BGP (Border Gateway Protocol), are used to exchange routing information between different autonomous systems, forming the backbone of the internet.

Routing protocols employ different algorithms to calculate the best path.
