Összeszkítom

Összeszkítom is a coined Hungarian verb that appears in linguistic discussions and speculative fiction to illustrate how Hungarian verbal morphology can encode totality of an action. The term translates roughly as “I blot out everything” or “I erase all.” It is not attested in standard Hungarian dictionaries and is not used in everyday speech.

Etymology and form: The word is built from the prefix összes- meaning “all, entire” attached to a hypothetical verb root skít- and carrying the first-person singular present tense suffix -om. The construction serves as a didactic example of prefixation and suffixation in Hungarian. The root skít- is a pedagogical placeholder rather than a genuine root found in the language.

Pronunciation: The form is pronounced with Hungarian phonology, with stress on the first syllable. A rough rendering is öss-sesz-kí-tom.
