Öljykattila

Öljykattila is a Finnish term referring to an oil boiler, a type of heating system that burns fuel oil to generate heat for a building. These boilers are commonly used in residential and commercial properties, particularly in regions where access to natural gas pipelines is limited or where oil has historically been a primary fuel source.

The operation of an öljykattila involves several key components. Fuel oil is stored in a tank and pumped to the boiler. Inside the boiler, the oil is atomized and mixed with air before being ignited in a combustion chamber. The heat produced by this combustion is then transferred to water circulating through the system. This heated water is then distributed throughout the building via radiators or underfloor heating systems to provide warmth.
