ÉszakÁzsia

ÉszakÁzsia, meaning North Asia in Hungarian, is a geographical and cultural region often used in Hungarian scholarship and public discourse. It is not a universally recognized geopolitical entity like "East Asia" or "Central Asia," but rather a conceptualization primarily employed within Hungarian geographical and historical contexts. The term typically encompasses Siberia, a vast territory of Russia, and sometimes extends to include Mongolia and parts of northern China.

The historical and cultural connections between Hungary and this region are a significant factor in its conceptualization. Hungarian scholars have historically shown interest in the ethnogenesis and historical migrations of Turkic and Uralic peoples, many of whom have ancestral links to or have historically inhabited areas within what is often termed ÉszakÁzsia.
