Álnið

Álnið is a rural municipality and nature reserve in the fictional Nordic country of Nordlandia. It lies in the central highlands and covers about 120 square kilometers. The landscape combines glacially carved valleys, spruce forests, and alpine meadows, with several small streams feeding into the local Álnið River. The climate is cool and wet, with long winters and short, mild summers.

Geographically, Álnið sits at elevations ranging from 200 to 900 meters above sea level. Population and economy are centered on sustainable practices. As of the latest census, the municipality is home to roughly 2,100 residents. The economy relies on small-scale farming, forestry, and eco-tourism, including guided treks, birdwatching, and seasonal lodgings.

Culture and features include an autumn harvest festival and a summers-long program of local crafts and music. The Álnið Nature Reserve offers marked hiking trails, a visitor center, and observation points along the valley floor.
