Ágrendszer

Ágrendszer is a Hungarian term referring to the lymphatic system in the human body. It is a network of vessels and organs responsible for draining and filtering the clear fluid known as lymph, which is composed of water, proteins, fats, and other substances.

The ágrendszer begins with tiny lymph capillaries located near the surface of the skin and other organs that absorb excess fluids and proteins. These capillaries merge to form larger lymphatic vessels, known as lymphatic channels, which ultimately lead to the lymph nodes. The lymph nodes act as filters, trapping bacteria, viruses, and other organisms that attempt to enter the body. They also play a key role in the body's immune response, as they house a type of white blood cell called lymphocytes.

Through a series of valves, the ágrendszer allows lymph to be transported upwards towards the surface of the skin, where it is expelled through sweat glands. This process is vital for maintaining fluid balance in the body, removing waste products, and protecting against infection.

The ágrendszer is an essential component of the immune system, working in tandem with other systems, such as the circulatory and respiratory systems, to keep the body healthy. While the lymphatic system is often overshadowed by other bodily systems, it plays a crucial role in overall health and disease prevention. Malfunctioning of the ágrendszer, often referred to as lymphedema, can lead to symptoms such as swelling, pain, and limited mobility.
