ÁFAfizetési
ÁFAfizetési, often abbreviated as ÁFA, refers to the Value Added Tax (VAT) payment system in Hungary. It is a consumption tax levied on most goods and services sold within Hungary and on certain imports into the country. The standard VAT rate in Hungary is 27%, but reduced rates of 18% and 5% apply to specific categories of products and services, such as certain food items, books, and pharmaceuticals. Businesses registered for VAT are generally required to charge ÁFA on their taxable sales and can reclaim ÁFA paid on their business purchases.
The ÁFA system operates on a credit-invoice mechanism. Businesses collect ÁFA from their customers (output tax)
