zbrazje

Zbrazje is a village located in the Despotovac municipality in eastern Serbia. It is situated in the northern part of the municipality, close to the border with the municipality of Majdanpek.

The village of Zbrazje covers an area of approximately 11 square kilometers and has a relatively small population. According to the 2011 census, the village had a population of 357 people, who mostly engage in agricultural activities, such as farming and livestock breeding.

Zbrazje is connected to the nearby town of Despotovac by a regional road. Public transportation to and from the village is available, but it is limited, and residents often use personal vehicles or bicycles to travel between the village and other nearby settlements.

The village of Zbrazje has a prehistoric site known as the Starčevo culture archaeological site. This site features the remains of a Neolithic settlement dating back to around 5700-4500 BC, and it is considered an important cultural and historical landmark in the region. Archaeological excavations at the site have uncovered various artifacts, including pottery, tools, and other artifacts, which provide valuable insights into the lives of the people who inhabited the area during that period.

The economy of Zbrazje is primarily based on agriculture and subsistence farming, with the villagers growing crops and raising livestock to meet their basic needs. The village also has a few small-scale industries, such as a sawmill and a bakery. However, the economic conditions in the village are generally considered to be challenging, and the residents rely heavily on external support from the local government and other organizations.
