zabraní

Zabraný is a Czech adjective meaning seized or confiscated. It describes goods, property or other items that have been taken into custody by state authorities under a legal or administrative act and are no longer in the possession of the owner while proceedings are ongoing. The term derives from the verb zabrat, to seize or confiscate.

In legal and administrative language, zabraný is commonly used with a noun to denote the status of possession. Typical occurrences include zabraný majetek (seized property), zabrané zboží (confiscated goods), or zabraný automobil (seized car). The form agrees with gender and number: masculine singular zabraný, feminine singular zabraná, neuter singular zabrané, with corresponding plural forms in each gender.

It is distinct from zakázaný (forbidden), which indicates illegality of possession rather than a state conferred by a seizure. It can be used alongside or as an alternative to zabavený or konfiskovaný, which emphasize the act of confiscation itself rather than the current status of the item.
