Yogg-Saron is a major antagonist in the Warcraft universe, primarily known as the "Old God of Death". He is one of the four Old Gods that were imprisoned in the planet Azeroth by the Titans long before mortal races appeared. Yogg-Saron's influence is insidious and corrupting, often manifesting through madness, delusions, and the twisting of life itself. His ultimate goal is to consume and destroy all of Azeroth, plunging it into eternal darkness.

The prison of Yogg-Saron is located deep beneath the continent of Northrend, within a vast underground complex known as Ulduar. For millennia, the Titans maintained a powerful seal on him, but his corrupting influence began to seep out, affecting creatures and even intelligent beings in the surrounding regions. This corruption led to the rise of various aberrations and the madness that plagued many of Ulduar's keepers.

During the War of the Lich King, adventurers ventured into Ulduar to confront Yogg-Saron. They discovered that he had manipulated many of Northrend's inhabitants, including the titan-forged watchers and even elements of the Scourge. The final confrontation with Yogg-Saron took place in the heart of Ulduar, where he was ultimately defeated, though his whispers and corrupting essence are believed to persist, a constant threat to Azeroth. His presence is often associated with the theme of madness and the fragility of the mind.
