Yhtiökokous is the supreme decision-making body of a Finnish limited liability company (osakeyhtiö) or a housing company (asunto-osakeyhtiö). It is a meeting where shareholders or apartment owners gather to make key decisions concerning the company's operations and management.

The yhtiökokous is convened at least once a year, typically within six months of the end of the financial year, for the annual general meeting (varsinainen yhtiökokous). Extraordinary general meetings (varsinaisen yhtiökokouksen lisäksi voidaan pitää ylimääräisiä yhtiökokouksia) can be called when necessary to address urgent matters that cannot wait until the next regular meeting.

Key responsibilities of the yhtiökokous include approving the financial statements, deciding on the distribution of profits or covering of losses, electing the board of directors (hallitus) and the auditor (tilintarkastaja), and making decisions on significant matters such as amendments to the articles of association, mergers, acquisitions, or dissolution of the company.

Each share in a limited liability company typically carries one vote, while in housing companies, the voting rights are usually based on the ownership share (omistusosuus) of the apartment. Decisions are generally made by a simple majority of votes, although certain important matters may require a qualified majority as specified by law or the company's articles of association. Shareholders or apartment owners have the right to attend the yhtiökokous, to be informed about the company's affairs, and to vote on the matters presented.
