Yarchagumba, also known as Himalayan Viagra, is a type of rare and precious fungal entomopathogen. It belongs to the Zygoneuralis genus and is found at high altitudes in the Himalayan region.

Yarchagumba grows in symbiosis with caterpillars of the Ghost Moth species, specifically the caterpillar of the Moth species "Thitarodes yinchuanensis". The caterpillars ingest the fungal spores, which then grow inside the caterpillar's body. The resulting fungus eventually kills the caterpillar, but the fungus itself remains intact and can be harvested.

In traditional Tibetan and Chinese medicine, yarchagumba is considered a valuable source of pharmacological compounds. It is traditionally used to stimulate vitality and increase sexual performance, though its effectiveness for this purpose has not been scientifically proven.

Yarchagumba is also said to possess anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties. It is believed to have various health benefits, including the regulation of blood pressure, improvement of neurological function and reduction of pain.

Yarchagumba is extremely rare and found in only a few locations in the world. It is typically picked by hand, causing a significant increase in price due to the manual collection, short harvesting period and the minimal yield.

Despite its value and supposed benefits, yarchagumba has also been criticized for its association with the poaching of Himalayan Ghost Moths. This has led to conservation concerns and strict regulations aimed at protecting the species.
