WCA commonly refers to the World Cube Association, the international governing body for official speedcubing competitions. It coordinates the rules, judging standards, competition formats, and results for official puzzles and maintains world records and rankings. The organization certifies competition organizers and judges, and assigns each competitor a WCA ID to track results across events. Local, national, and regional competitions are held worldwide, culminating in major championships such as the World Championship and continental championships.

Official events cover a range of puzzles, most notably the 3×3×3 cube, but also 2×2×2, 4×4×4, 5×5×5,

Results are published in the public WCA database, providing global rankings and world records for each official
