Vévoda is a Czech word that translates to "duke" in English. It refers to a male member of royalty or nobility, typically holding the highest rank below that of a king or sovereign prince. Historically, the title of vévoda carried significant political and military power, often governing a large territory or duchy. The female equivalent of a vévoda is a vévodkyně, or duchess.
