Vérképzésre, often translated as hematopoiesis or hemopoiesis, refers to the complex biological process by which all blood cells, including red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets, are produced. This essential process occurs primarily in the bone marrow of mammals. It begins with pluripotent stem cells, which have the remarkable ability to differentiate into various types of blood cells.

The development pathway of blood cells is meticulously regulated. Stem cells first give rise to progenitor cells, which are more specialized but still capable of proliferation. These progenitors then mature into specific blood cell lineages.
