våtsläckningssystemen
A våtsläckningssystem, or wet pipe sprinkler system, is a type of fire suppression system where the piping is continuously filled with water. This water is kept under pressure and is ready to be discharged immediately upon activation. When a fire occurs, a sprinkler head directly above the fire heats up. Once the temperature reaches a specific point, the heat-sensitive element in the sprinkler head breaks, opening the valve and releasing the pressurized water. The water flows through the open sprinkler head and onto the fire, extinguishing it or controlling its spread. This system is the most common type of automatic sprinkler system due to its simplicity and reliability. The continuous water presence means that water reaches the fire faster than in dry pipe systems, making it highly effective for most fire hazards. The main advantage is its immediate response, as there is no delay for water to travel through the pipes. However, a drawback is the potential for accidental water damage if a sprinkler head is damaged or activated unintentionally, as the pipes are always full. Regular maintenance and inspection are crucial to ensure the system's functionality and prevent unnecessary water discharge.
