Vääntösauvoihin, known in English as torsion bars, are a type of spring used in vehicle suspension systems. They function by twisting along their longitudinal axis to absorb and release energy. One end of the torsion bar is typically fixed to the vehicle's chassis, while the other end is connected to a suspension component, such as a control arm. When a wheel encounters a bump or dips into a depression, the control arm moves, causing the torsion bar to twist. This twisting action stores the energy, and as the suspension returns to its normal position, the bar untwists, releasing the stored energy.
Torsion bars offer several advantages in suspension design. They can provide a low profile, which is beneficial
