Vázizomsejtek, also known as skeletal muscle cells or muscle fibers, are the fundamental cellular units responsible for voluntary movement in the human body and other vertebrates. These cells are characterized by their elongated, cylindrical shape, which can extend for several centimeters. Unlike most somatic cells, vázizomsejtek are multinucleated, meaning they contain multiple nuclei, a result of the fusion of many precursor cells called myoblasts during development.

The cytoplasm of vázizomsejtek is densely packed with myofibrils, which are specialized contractile organelles. These myofibrils are composed of repeating units called sarcomeres, formed by the interaction of two main protein filaments: actin and myosin.
