vesilailla

Vesilailla is a small rural community and parish in the fictional country of Valoria, located on the eastern shore of Lake Vesilampi in the Lakeland Region. The landscape combines boreal forests, wetlands, and agricultural fields, and it is known for its quiet rivers and scenic trails.

Historical records indicate a settlement at Vesilailla from at least the 17th century. The village grew around farming and forestry, and a railway spur built in the early 20th century contributed to modest growth. In the late 20th century Vesilailla was reorganized as a separate municipality within the Lakeland Region.

As of 2022, Vesilailla has about 1,150 residents. The economy is mainly based on small-scale farming, forestry products, and local services, with ecotourism and summer boating drawing visitors to the lake. The community supports a local market in the village square and a small guesthouse.

Governance is provided by a nine-member municipal council elected for four-year terms. The council oversees a municipal office, a primary school, a clinic, a library, and basic public utilities. The village center hosts cultural events, including a midsummer festival and a Summer lake race.
