verifikon

Verifikon is a term that appears in Esperanto-language texts to denote verification in a transitive sense. It represents the act, result, or instance of verifying, and is used as the direct object in sentences such as Mi faris la verifikon de la identeco. In this role, verifikon functions as the object form of the related noun or verbal root.

In standard Esperanto vocabulary, the more common noun for the process of verification is verifikado, or more generally kontrolo for a check or audit. The verb verifi means to verify, and its common nominalized form verifikado expresses the process or act of verification. Verifikon, therefore, is typically encountered in contexts where the verification is treated as a concrete object of an action, rather than as the general process.

Etymology and morphology: verifikon derives from the root verifik- associated with the verb verifi (to verify) and uses the Esperanto accusative ending -on to mark a definite direct object. The form is consistent with Esperanto’s regular noun- and verb-based derivations, though it is less standard as a general term for verification compared to verifikado.
