vereseerumi
Veriseerumi, sometimes written vereseerumi, is the clear, pale-yellow liquid component that remains in blood after coagulation. It is produced when a blood sample is allowed to clot and then is separated by centrifugation from the clotted material. Unlike plasma, veriseerumi does not contain fibrinogen or other clotting factors, which are consumed during coagulation. This distinction between serum and plasma is important for laboratory testing and sample handling.
Veriseerumi comprises mostly water, but also contains electrolytes, proteins such as albumin and immunoglobulins, hormones, metabolites,
Clinical use: Serum is widely used for diagnostic chemistry, immunology, and serology tests, including antibody detection
Handling and storage: After collection, allow clotting, centrifuge, and aliquot the serum. Store at 2–8 C for
