Ventiloitua is a term employed in speculative design and some technical discourses to describe a configurable system for managing air flow and air quality in enclosed spaces. The word is used across disciplines to refer to either physical devices or theoretical models that couple ventilation with filtration, humidity control, and thermal management.

In its common conception, ventiloitua consists of a network of vents, fans or turbines, dampers, and sensors arranged to create controlled air exchange with minimal energy use. Some implementations emphasize modularity and are designed to be scalable from small rooms to large habitats. The core principle is to alternate pressure differentials and path selection to optimize air turnover while preserving comfort.

Applications include spacecraft and submarines where reliable air renewal is critical, greenhouses requiring precise environmental control, and high-occupancy buildings seeking energy-efficient ventilation. Variants may be passive (relying on buoyancy and wind-induced pressure) or active (driven by low-power motors and adaptive controllers).

Historically, ventiloitua emerged in early 21st-century speculative design and has been adopted in some techno-sociological discussions about sustainable indoor climate. Because the term is not standardized, different authors use it to describe different mechanisms, from simple ventilation strategies to comprehensive HVAC concepts.
