velRestoration

VelRestoration is a publicly available and actively maintained modification for the online multiplayer game Fallout: New Vegas. The modification was created by CAWgoodgame and released in 2010. The purpose of VelRestoration is to correct various balancing issues and restore some of the RPG-like elements that were present in the original Fallout: New Vegas code.

The modification adds a significant number of patches to the original game code, addressing problems with character advancement, skill scaling, and other miscellaneous bugs. VelRestoration also revises the Perception and Barter talent trees, providing improved synergy between skills and making the game's mechanics more streamlined. It introduces a new system that allows players to rediscover those Brotherhood of Steel laser guns which were taken away from distribution in the vanilla game.

Another key feature of VelRestoration is its attempt to reconcile a number of gameplay exploitations, reducing the overall feeling of ease versus consistent difficulty for completing content stemming from unleveling the player’s character by incorporating ways such as removal of automation to Insight skills for how certain companions accessed landmines through land carriage that caused untrust of this obtained fortune amount etc.
