vekil

Vekil is a Turkish noun meaning agent, proxy, or representative. Derived from the Arabic wakil, meaning one who is entrusted to act on another’s behalf, the term is used in legal, political, and everyday contexts to denote someone authorized to act for someone else.

In legal practice, a vekil is someone authorized to act for a principal under a vekaletname (power of attorney).
