Vejle is a Danish town and the seat of Vejle Municipality in the Region of Southern Denmark, situated on the Jutland peninsula at the head of the Vejle Fjord. As of recent estimates, the town has about 60,000 residents, while the municipality has around 112,000 inhabitants, making it a regional center for commerce, services, and culture.

The town lies where the Vejle River flows into the fjord. The surrounding area includes forests and gentle hills, notably the Vejle Ådal valley to the south, which provides outdoor recreation opportunities.

Vejle grew from a medieval market town and expanded with the arrival of rail and industry in the 19th and 20th centuries. It serves as the administrative center of Vejle Municipality, which also includes rural communities and the historic village of Jelling.

The city functions as a regional retail and service hub. It is served by Vejle Station, linking it to major Danish cities, and lies along important road connections, including the E45 corridor.

The municipality contains the Jelling area, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for the Jelling Stones.
