vegetatiivseks

Vegetatiivseks is the translative form of the Estonian adjective vegetatiivne, meaning related to vegetation, growth without sexual reproduction, or to vegetative bodily functions. In Estonian grammar, the translative case marks a change into a state, so vegetatiivseks is used to express “into a vegetative state” or “into a vegetative form.” The form appears in scientific and medical texts as well as in everyday language when describing transformation or condition.

In biology and botany, vegetatiivne describes processes not involving sexual reproduction. Vegetatiivne paljunemine refers to asexual reproduction, such as growth from non-reproductive parts of a plant.
