Variabilitetit is the Finnish plural form of variabiliteetti, referring to the degree to which data values differ from one another or from a central reference value. In statistics, variability describes the dispersion or spread of a dataset and is a core concept alongside central tendency. It is essential for understanding processes, comparing groups, estimating uncertainty, and making decisions under uncertainty.

Common measures of variability include the range, interquartile range, variance, and standard deviation. The coefficient of variation expresses variability relative to the mean, helping to compare data on different scales.
