Vakoló is a Hungarian term referring to a plasterer, a skilled tradesperson who applies plaster or render to interior and exterior walls and ceilings. This work involves preparing the surface, mixing the plastering materials, and applying them in a smooth and even layer. Plastering serves both decorative and protective purposes, creating a finished surface for painting or wallpapering and providing a barrier against moisture and temperature fluctuations.

The traditional materials for vakoló work include lime, sand, and water, though modern plasters often incorporate cement or gypsum for increased strength and faster drying times.
