Usmjeren is an adjective used in Croatian, Bosnian, and Serbian to describe something that has been directed, aimed, or oriented toward a particular target, goal, or direction. It is formed from the verb usmjeriti, meaning to direct or aim, with the suffix -en creating a past participle-like adjective. The term can function both attributively and predicatively, as in usmjeren projekt (a project that is directed toward a goal) or poruka usmjerena prema cilju (a message aimed at the target).

Etymology and usage notes: Usmjeren derives from usmjeriti, which conveys directing, guiding, or steering. In addition to human actions, it is used to describe objects, plans, or methods that are purposefully oriented. The phrase usmjeren prema (toward) is common when indicating the target or direction, for example, usmjeren prema tržištu (directed toward the market) or usmjeren na određeni problem (aimed at a specific problem).

In everyday and technical language, usmjeren often appears in contexts such as strategy, communication, and engineering. Examples include usmjeren pristup problemu (a targeted approach to a problem), usmjeren izvor svjetla (a directed light source), and usmjeren snop (a directed beam).
