Unimposing describes something or someone that does not attract attention or impress others. It suggests a lack of assertiveness, grandeur, or ostentatiousness. An unimposing presence might be quiet, modest, or subtle. It is the opposite of imposing, which suggests something that commands attention or exerts authority. For example, a small, plainly decorated building might be described as unimposing, whereas a large, ornate palace would be considered imposing.
