Underskrevet is a Danish and Norwegian adjective and past participle derived from the verb underskrive, meaning to sign. It describes a document, declaration, or letter that has been signed by the relevant person or parties. The word etymologically derives from the action of writing one's name beneath the text, i.e., signing below.

In practical use, a document is described as underskrevet when all required signatures are present, indicating consent, agreement, and binding effect. In legal and administrative contexts, an underskrevet contract or letter is typically considered valid and enforceable once signed by the authorized signatories. The term can also appear in formal closings or headings to indicate the signer’s status, for example in phrases like “Underskrevet” followed by the name of the signer.

Modern practice allows for electronic signatures, so a document can be underskrevet electronically or with a digital signature. In many jurisdictions, including the European Union under the eIDAS framework, electronic signatures can have the same legal effect as handwritten ones, provided the signature meets applicable requirements.
