Underivedness is a philosophical concept referring to something that is not a consequence or product of another entity or process. It describes a state of being fundamentally original, existing in and of itself without needing to be explained by or traced back to something else.

In metaphysics, underivedness is often associated with foundational principles or ultimate realities. For example, some theological arguments posit that God is underived, meaning God's existence is not dependent on any prior cause.
