Túllegeltetés is a Hungarian term that translates to "over-grazing" or "over-stocking" in English. It refers to a situation where livestock consume pasture vegetation at a rate faster than it can regenerate. This leads to a decline in the quality and quantity of available forage, impacting the long-term health and productivity of the land.

The consequences of over-grazing are varied and often detrimental. One of the most significant is soil erosion. When the protective cover of vegetation is removed, wind and rain can more easily wash away the topsoil, reducing fertility and making it difficult for new plants to establish.
