Tööstusüksus, translated as industrial unit, is a production entity within an enterprise or organization that is treated as a distinct unit for statistical and administrative purposes. It typically corresponds to a physically separate site or operation that contributes to the production of goods or services.

Key characteristics of a tööstusüksus include its location, ownership or affiliation with a parent enterprise, and its main economic activity. It usually has its own accounting or reporting segment, and is distinguished by identifiable inputs, processes, and outputs. A tööstusüksus can be a factory plant, workshop, workshop, or service center that produces goods or delivers services for the market. It may be a separate legal entity or part of a larger corporate structure, depending on how production and accounting are organized.

In statistical practice, tööstusüksus is used to collect and analyze data such as employment, production volume, turnover, value added, energy consumption, and material use. The unit allows for comparability across industries and countries and aligns with international concepts of establishments or production units under standard classifications like NACE.
