Tweewielig is a Dutch term that describes something with two wheels. In practice it is used as an adjective to refer to two-wheeled vehicles and objects, such as bicycles (fietsen), motorcycles (motorfietsen), mopeds (bromfietsen) and many electric two-wheelers. The word is typically contrasted with driewielig (three-wheeled) and vierwielig (four-wheeled). While the term is broadly descriptive, it is not a specific vehicle category on its own in most legal or technical contexts.

Two-wheeled designs are characterized by a need for balance and steering control. Stability at rest is achieved by the rider’s ability to keep the vehicle upright, and while motion provides dynamic stability through steering geometry and gyroscopic effects, riders rely on continuous adjustments of body position and handlebar input.
