The tværbrocyklussen, or transversal bridge cycle, is a term used in the context of bridge construction, particularly for cable-stayed bridges. It describes a specific method of erecting the bridge deck where segments are lifted and attached to the stay cables in a transverse direction, meaning across the width of the bridge, rather than longitudinally along the length. This approach is often employed when it is not feasible to use traditional methods like cantilever construction or launching the deck from one abutment.

In a tværbrocyklussen, cranes are typically positioned on top of the pylons or on temporary platforms. The deck segments, prefabricated off-site, are then lifted into place and connected to the radiating stay cables. This process is carried out symmetrically on both sides of the pylon to maintain balance and stability throughout the construction phase. The cycle involves lifting a segment, securing it to the cables, and then moving to the next segment.
