The tsuchikage is the title given to the leader of Iwagakure, the Hidden Stone Village, one of the five great shinobi villages in the Naruto universe. The tsuchikage serves as the supreme authority within the village, overseeing governance, military matters, and shinobi affairs, and acting as Iwa’s representative in dealings with other nations and villages.

Etymology-wise, tsuchikage translates to Earth Shadow, reflecting the village’s emphasis on earth-style techniques and a rock-hard martial culture. The office is historically significant within Iwa, and its holder is traditionally recognized as the symbol of the village’s political and military leadership. Like other Kage, the tsuchikage is responsible for strategic decisions, diplomacy, and the welfare of Iwa’s shinobi.

Among the most prominent modern holders is Onoki, the Third Tsuchikage.
