Trikrezilfoszfát is a chemical compound also known as tricresyl phosphate (TCP). It is an organophosphate ester and is a colorless, viscous liquid with a mild odor. Trikrezilfoszfát is a mixture of isomers, with the ortho-isomer being the most toxic. Its primary use has been as a plasticizer in the production of plastics and polymers, particularly polyvinyl chloride (PVC). It imparts flexibility and durability to these materials. Additionally, it has been employed as a flame retardant and a lubricant additive.

Historically, trikrezilfoszfát found widespread application due to its effectiveness and relatively low cost. However, concerns about its toxicity have led to a significant reduction in its use in many applications, especially those involving direct human contact or potential environmental release. The ortho-isomer, in particular, is known to be a neurotoxin, capable of causing delayed paralysis and other neurological effects. Exposure can occur through ingestion, inhalation, or skin contact. Due to these health risks, regulatory bodies in many countries have imposed restrictions or banned its use in certain consumer products and food-contact materials. Alternative plasticizers and flame retardants with lower toxicity profiles have largely replaced trikrezilfoszfát in many industrial processes.
