Triflaatti is a chemical compound characterized by the presence of a triflate anion. The triflate anion, also known as trifluoromethanesulfonate, has the chemical formula CF3SO3-. It is a strong leaving group in organic chemistry, meaning it readily detaches from a molecule during a reaction. This property makes triflate salts useful reagents in various synthetic transformations, such as alkylations and acylations.

Triflate salts are typically formed by reacting an alcohol or phenol with triflic anhydride or triflic acid in the presence of a base. The resulting triflate ester is often highly reactive.
