torsionspring
A torsion spring is a type of elastic device that stores rotational energy. It works by exerting a torque, or twisting force, in response to an applied torque. Unlike a compression or extension spring which store energy by being compressed or stretched, a torsion spring stores energy when its ends are rotated around the spring's axis.
Torsion springs are typically made from a single strand of spring wire wound into a helical coil.
The main function of a torsion spring is to apply a rotational force or to control rotational
