Topologyan is a neologistic term used to denote a person who studies topology, especially mathematical topology. It blends topology with the -an suffix common in agent nouns and demonyms. The term is not standard in formal mathematics and is largely encountered in informal discussion, speculative fiction, or linguistic play, where it may serve as an alternative to topologist.

In ordinary practice, the word topologist is preferred. Topology is the branch of mathematics concerned with properties preserved under continuous deformations, including concepts such as continuity, compactness, connectedness, and convergence. A topologyan, when used, is assumed to be someone engaged with these ideas—perhaps a student, researcher, educator, or enthusiast.

Usage of topologyan is rare and tends to be contextual or rhetorical. There is no widely accepted formal origin or definition within scholarly literature; the term functions more as a playful or informal label rather than a recognized professional designation.
