Concept and design: A tokamakuri would retain a toroidal vacuum chamber and a toroidal magnetic field produced by coils, with a poloidal field generated by plasma current or external coils to create a helical confinement geometry. Proposed refinements include advanced superconducting magnets, non-inductive current drive (for example, radiofrequency or neutral beam methods), refined plasma shaping, and an integrated high-heat-flux divertor or liquid-metal wall to manage exhaust.
