throwline
A throwline, in water rescue and boating contexts, is a short-length rope attached to a buoyant throw bag designed to be thrown to a person in water who is at risk of drowning. The line allows the victim to grasp a secured lifeline and be pulled to safety without a boat or direct reach.

Safety and maintenance: Inspect for wear, fraying, and UV damage; replace if compromised. Keep the line dry
