thorakolumbaariseen
Thorakolumbaariseen refers to the thoracolumbar junction, a region of the spine where the thoracic spine (mid-back) meets the lumbar spine (lower back). This transition zone is anatomically significant as it is a common site for injuries and pathologies. The thoracic spine consists of twelve vertebrae, identified as T1 through T12, which are characterized by their articulation with the ribs. The lumbar spine comprises five vertebrae, L1 through L5, which are larger and designed to support the weight of the upper body. The thoracolumbar junction, therefore, encompasses the area around the T12 and L1 vertebrae.
This region experiences significant biomechanical stress due to the movement and weight-bearing demands placed upon it.
